Misterton Women’s Institute
(Registered Charity No: 228257)
Misterton Women’s Institute was started in 1920 and we meet (following the sale of our hall in 2022 which we owned and managed for 52 years) at ‘The Globe’ Public house, Middle Street, Misterton on the first Tuesday of each month.
Meetings start at 7 p.m. and after a small amount of W.I. business we have a Speaker. In the summer we will be holding our Meetings in conjunction with outings to local places of educational interest with venues being suggested by our members.
We are a busy group and like to socialise and enjoy coffee mornings, lunches out, a garden party, picnic, theatre trips etc. and members can choose if they have a particular place they would like to visit, which we will try to incorporate in our programme. New ideas are always welcome as are new members. We also have contact with other W.I.s and support their events, such as outings, quizzes, golf croquet and walks around their Villages. We are in a skittles league and play at different pubs in our area enabling us to enjoy their hospitality.
The WI as a National organisation is in a very strong position to make their voice heard and it is our hope that Misterton WI continues for a further 102 years!
Ladies are very welcome to visit our meetings at the Globe to socialise and hear our Speakers.
