21/139. Apologies for absence
Apologies for absence were received and accepted from Cllr Paul Gillard & Cllr Graham White (Both Personal)
21/140. Code of Conduct and Declarations of Interests
All Councillors present declared an interest on the planning application for the cemetery extension as this is the Parish Councils application.
21/141. Minutes of the meeting of 15th February
The minutes of the meetings held on 15th February were resolved as a true and accurate record.

21/142. Matters Arising from Minutes

21/143. Reports
- Report from County Councillor & District Councillor
Cllr Best reported that:
- Much is still the same as last month’s report with most of the time for both councils being spent on the new Unitary Authority.
- Instrument is set to be going through parliament for the new Unitary Authority.
- Report from Chairman of the Parish Council & Recreation Field Trust
Cllr I Rowland reported that:
- Not a lot happening in the village but our thoughts are with Ukraine.
- Misterton Action Group donated £100 to MERT to say thank you for what they do in the community.
21/144. Planning including applications currently in circulation/determinations
- Planning: For information only – 22/00470/COU – Change of use from agricultural sheep grazing land to burial ground to provide an extension to the existing adjacent cemetery – Land South of Misterton Cemetery (Cemetery extension) School Hill Misterton
- Determinations: For information only – The South Somerset District (Crewkerne & Misterton No. 1) Tree Preservation Order 2021.
21/145. Highways & Footpaths
- To consider future works for the Parish Ranger
- 2022/23 Price increase received and agreed.
- Normal standard work with the addition of putting post back up in turnpike green.
Action: Clerk to speak to ranger to arrange for the post to be put back up and confirm with SSDC for the ranger service to continue.

- To receive an update on speed Indicator device.
Awaiting highways to confirm the chosen locations for the SID. Also, to look into a second grant for using Solar.
Action: Cllr Rowland to look into the grant. Clerk to follow up with Highways for the confirmation of the location.
- To receive an update following face to face with Highways.
- Highways are going to provide the Parish Council with drawings of how the drains run.
- Sunken drains will be re-done.
- 20mph will stay in the village when the school shuts.
21/146. Amenities
- To receive the cemetery inspection report
Clerk advised that the official check wasn’t completed in time for the meeting however she had been up to the cemetery for a meeting and had a look around. Nothing to report, broken bench taped off awaiting new wood.
- To receive an update on the 5 year headstone check.
Clerk advised that after lots of research she managed to find a local qualified professional who provided a quote. Quote was circulated and it was agreed to move forward with the quote from SSDC.

- To receive an update on Cemetery Extension
Cemetery extension plans have been submitted awaiting final decision.
- To receive an update on the gateposts project
Project in hand awaiting quotes
- To receive an update on an alternative venue for the Parish Council meetings to be held and an alternative address for correspondence.
No suitable venue within the parish at the moment, will wait and see what happens with the current venue.
- To receive an update on plans for the Queen’s Jubilee.
Action: Clerk to price up plaque and tree.

- To receive an update on moving banks
Clerk provided feedback on banks and a decision was made to move forward with Unity Bank.

- Up to date pay scale was agreed and adopted as of 1st April 2021
- Clerks current pay scale reviewed and agreement was made to increase by one scale.
